Holiday program for children and young people aged 10 and over
Together we will program self-driving robot cars using Scratch. No prior knowledge is required.
In this hands-on workshop, children aged 10 and up program the mBot 2 learning robot kit using visual programming (Scratch/mBlock). After a brief introduction to the robot's structure, motors, and sensors, they connect the robot to a PC via cable and create their first control programs. They then learn fundamental programming concepts such as sequences, loops, and conditions, and use ultrasonic, infrared, and line-following sensors. The goal is to develop autonomous driving behavior: recognizing obstacles, following a line, and making simple decisions.
The course is hands-on: working in pairs, participants program and test step by step, debug their programs, and improve their solutions. Finally, the children drive the robots on a small course and briefly present their results. The workshop promotes logical thinking, robotics fundamentals, and teamwork.
