The Bremen Cancer Society, founded in 1957, is a competent contact point in Bremen and the surrounding area for people with cancer as well as for relatives and other caregivers.

The wide range of services is brought to life by highly motivated employees, but also by the many people and institutions that support us in a variety of ways.

Our outpatient psychosocial cancer counseling center, with three locations in Bremen, offers qualified advice and support. We are also committed to cancer prevention and provide information, lectures, training, and support for self-help groups. As a private, community-oriented organization, the Bremen Cancer Society is supported by more than 1,000 members and other donors.

Counseling:
We are here for you: Living with cancer is exhausting and raises many questions. Cancer patients are often severely physically impaired for extended periods due to the illness and treatments. This can lead to significant emotional and social problems, affecting loved ones and often severely impacting their overall life situation.

The staff at the cancer support centers in Bremen city, Bremen-North, and Bremen-Huchting are here to help. They offer personal or telephone consultations and are, of course, bound by confidentiality.

The consultation is free of charge.

We take time for you and your loved ones. As a result of your illness, you will have to cope with many changes. These can affect your partnership, children, friendships, career, and often your financial situation. We support you and are here to help with professional and personal advice.

In our consultations, we will discuss your needs, offer specialized counseling with psychological or social support, provide information about the illness, and, if needed, offer couples/family counseling or support for children/adolescents through our Pegasus program. Furthermore, we are available in crisis situations and, in special cases, will visit you at home.
