Processing of personal data
Personal data is information that relates to you as an individual. This includes details such as your real name, address, postal address, telephone number, and email address, but also your IP address. Information that cannot be directly linked to your real identity (such as the length of time spent on the website or the number of website users) is generally not considered personal data. However, if we can associate this data with a specific person, it is considered personal data.
With the exception of your IP address, you can generally use our website without providing any personal data. Where personal data (such as name, address, or email addresses) is collected on our site, this is always done on a voluntary basis, where possible. Your personal data will only be shared if this is necessary for providing our website and the services offered, or if you have given your prior consent.
SSL or TLS encryption
This website uses modern SSL/TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential information. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address bar of your browser begins with "https://" and a padlock icon is displayed.
Encrypted transmission ensures that data you send to us cannot be read by third parties.
Automated data collection when visiting our website
When you visit this website, data transmitted by your browser is automatically processed by us. This data includes:
- Browser type and browser version
- Operating system used
- Referrer URL
- Hostname of the accessing computer
- Time of server request
- Visitor's IP address (anonymized)
This data can be associated with specific individuals. Processing this data is necessary for communication between servers and end devices in order to deliver the website content to your device. The data is processed to protect our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest in data processing lies in ensuring the proper functioning of our website.
This data will not be combined with other data sources. Log files are generally stored for a maximum of 14 days and then automatically deleted. In cases of suspected misuse of our website, we reserve the right to retain the data for a longer period if necessary for investigation.
Cookies
Our website does not use cookies for analysis, tracking or marketing purposes for visitors.
Technically necessary cookies may only be set in connection with internal website functions, particularly when logging into the administration area. These cookies are essential for the operation of the website and are not used for visitors to publicly accessible pages.
If similar technical storage mechanisms (e.g., local storage) are used on this website, we will provide separate information about this in this privacy policy.
Contact us via email
Should you contact us via one of the provided email links, we will process the personal data you voluntarily submit to us. This processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. Our legitimate interest in processing this data lies in being able to answer your inquiry appropriately and to your satisfaction, as well as in identifying only legitimate inquiries.
Here too, the principle of data minimization described above, which applies to us, and the regulations regarding the storage or legal retention of personal data apply.
We only store the personal data you provide for the duration of the processing of the relevant transaction or for any legally required retention periods that may arise therefrom. We adhere to the principle of data minimization.
Note regarding sensitive information:
Please be aware that you may, in principle, transmit personal data to us via forms or email, which may be particularly sensitive (e.g., information about your health or personal circumstances). We recommend that you only transmit such information if it is absolutely necessary for your request.
If you voluntarily provide us with such data, processing will be based on your consent in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.
Submission form
On our website, you have the option to submit content (e.g., offers, locations, or articles) for publication. The data you enter will be transmitted to us and stored on our server. This applies in particular to:
- Contact details (e.g. email address)
- Submission contents (e.g. title, description, details of offers or locations)
- Optional additional information (e.g. telephone number, address, contact person)
The data is processed for the purpose of reviewing, processing and publishing your submission, as well as for any follow-up questions.
Parts of the submitted data will be publicly displayed on the website, according to your input. Your email address will not be published and is used solely for communication purposes. In addition, you will receive an email notification and confirmation from us regarding your submission.
The processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) and for the purpose of processing your request (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b or f GDPR).
The data will be stored for as long as necessary for the stated purposes or until you withdraw your consent.
To prevent spam, we use technical safeguards (e.g., so-called honeypot fields). No further automated decision-making or profiling takes place.
Applications
You can apply for a position with us if it is advertised on our website. Please send your application documents by email.
In addition to your application documents (cover letter, CV, certificates) and the information they contain, we process your email address and the data you disclose in the email. We also process metadata associated with the email (such as your IP address). This personal data is processed and stored for the application process and the potential establishment of an employment relationship. The data is only shared with internal departments and individuals involved in filling the position. If your application is unsuccessful, your data will be deleted four months after the selection process is completed.
When you send us an application, we process the data for pre-contractual purposes or for establishing an employment relationship in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR.
Map usage
We provide map functions on our website (e.g., for location display and address search).
These functions are integrated in a privacy-friendly manner via our own server. Map content and geodata are not directly retrieved from external providers by your device, but are first loaded and cached via our servers (proxy).
We use the Geoapify service to provide map and geodata. Geoapify is based within the European Union (Cyprus). According to the provider, the technical infrastructure is operated via European hosting providers, including Hetzner GmbH in Germany. However, the proxy solution we use ensures that no direct connection is established between your device and Geoapify's servers.
However, during use, server-side processing of technical data (e.g., IP address, time of request) may occur in order to provide functionality and ensure system security.
The use is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in a user-friendly presentation of our content).
Further information on data processing at Geoapify can be found at:
https://www.geoapify.com/privacy-policy/
Favorites / Watchlist
On our website, you can use a watchlist ("favorites"). Selected content (e.g., articles) is saved locally in your browser. Storage takes place exclusively on your device using local storage. No personal data is transmitted to our servers. The watchlist only stores technical information (e.g., IDs of the selected content and any names you may have assigned to lists).
The data remains stored until you delete it yourself in your browser or reset the function.
The use is based on Section 25 Paragraph 2 No. 2 TTDSG and Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter f GDPR (technically necessary function for the provision of the website).
Chatbot “Familio”
Our website offers the option to contact us via chat. We use a service provided by Chatlab (based in Poland, EU) for this purpose. The chat will only load after you have explicitly consented. Only then will a connection to Chatlab's servers be established.
Personal data may be processed in this process, in particular:
- IP address
- Date and time of the request
- Content of the communication
- Technical information about the device and browser used
Your data will be used based on your consent in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Article 9(2)(a) GDPR, insofar as special categories of personal data are processed. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future.
It cannot be ruled out that our data processor, Chatlab, may transfer your personal data to subcontractors in third countries (e.g., the USA) as part of the processing. In this case, Chatlab implements appropriate safeguards for the transfer to third countries in accordance with Articles 44 et seq. GDPR (in particular, standard contractual clauses).
