For over 10 years, the circus district has offered a diverse program for children, teenagers, adults, and families. From "Discovering the Circus" for preschoolers to professionalizing artistic skills, the circus school offers a range of courses at various locations. In addition, there are holiday programs, projects, and collaborations with kindergartens, schools, and social and cultural institutions.
Through our programs, we aim to offer people enjoyable and diverse leisure activities and strengthen their personal development in the long term. A good balance between circus pedagogy and circus arts is central to our approach.
Qualified pedagogical and artistic staff, along with a favorable staff-to-participant ratio, are integral to all our programs. Our team includes artists, educators, social workers, and creative individuals. All groups are led by two experienced circus trainers.
We regularly offer the opportunity for an internship alongside vocational training, both in the office and in practice.
Furthermore, we maintain partnerships with schools in several districts.
courses
The regular basic courses teach various circus arts. Depending on age and experience, the training plan includes, for example, acrobatics, aerial acrobatics, rola bola, tightrope walking, balancing on a globe, fakir skills, or juggling.
The regular courses at the Circus Quarter are structured according to age, meaning the children grow up together and can remain in the same group as they get older. With the group's experience, the opportunities and challenges increase. For the older groups, theater, dance, and other forms of performance are also incorporated into the activities.
The specialized courses focus on a specific genre, allowing participants to deepen their knowledge and bring new ideas to the basic course. Alternatively, they offer the opportunity to specialize in a particular prop. These specialized courses are a great complement to the basic courses.
In general, a high staff-to-participant ratio is important to us in order to address the individual needs of the children and young people. Training begins with a group warm-up before working on selected circus techniques. Afterwards, there is a period of independent practice. Depending on age and group dynamics, there is also time for games.
Circus Daycare
Having received an increasing number of inquiries from children's groups over the age of three in recent years, we have developed a concept for "Circus in Kindergarten". The diversity of the circus offers numerous opportunities to promote the individual development of children between the ages of three and six.
Learning circus tricks together in a playful way allows children to explore their creativity and get to know their bodies better. Team spirit, helpfulness, and mutual trust are fostered while practicing various circus techniques. This strengthens the children's independence and self-confidence.
The children are playfully introduced to various circus arts, such as acrobatics, juggling with scarves, balancing on a ball, and many circus games! The children experiment together and can then present what they have learned in their own small circus performance.
The program can take place either in our facilities or directly at the kindergarten. It can be implemented as a project week or as a 10-week program.
