District: Mitte

With around 31,000 employees in approximately 5,000 businesses, the skilled trades sector is a key pillar of Bremen's economy. These predominantly family-run companies make a valuable contribution to community cohesion and integration in the city's neighborhoods. The apprenticeship rate of over 10 percent also plays a significant role in this.

The Chamber of Skilled Crafts represents the interests of these businesses and their employees to politicians and government officials. Furthermore, it performs numerous sovereign tasks delegated to it by the state.

These include, for example, maintaining the register of craftsmen and apprentices, regulating and monitoring vocational training, establishing examination boards, and issuing examination regulations. These tasks are carried out competently, effectively, and practically thanks to the strong involvement of volunteer craftsmen and craftswomen.

Last but not least, the Chamber of Skilled Crafts provides individual advice to its member companies, their employees and young professionals on numerous topics relating to business management, starting a business, and training and further education.

Regardless of the size of the member companies, the public and government administration, the Bremen Chamber of Skilled Crafts ensures fast, efficient and the best possible support for all members.

The Bremen Chamber of Skilled Crafts brings together the concerns of all Bremen craftsmen and represents them to the Bremen Parliament, the Senate and the Bremen administration.
