The Initiative for Social Rehabilitation eV is a non-profit association that was founded in 1982 in connection with the dissolution of a long-term psychiatric clinic and the critical examination of conventional, medically oriented psychiatry.
Today, the initiative…eV offers psychosocial, educational, and practical support for people with mental health issues, addictions, drug dependencies, and cognitive impairments. This assistance is provided within the framework of integration assistance according to the German Social Code, Book IX (formerly "Assisted Living"). Our primary focus is on the needs of the individuals and the support services we can provide to enable them to live as independently and fulfilling a life as possible.
In addition, we offer educational programs and employment projects. We cooperate with our subsidiaries and have close ties to youth services, low-threshold drug support services, and an innovative employment project.
In all areas of our work, we are committed to promoting self-determined and independent living, as well as the participation of our users in social and working contexts. Principles of empowerment, recovery, and inclusion, alongside user orientation and participation, and a focus on the local community and neighborhood, are central to our work.
