The children's and youth farm in Bremen-Habenhausen is a non-profit organization that aims to teach children and young people in the city how to interact with animals, plants, nature, and also how to interact with each other.
Children's and youth farms see their mission as providing ample space for children and young people, especially those from urban areas, to explore and experience the world. Their programs, which are based on socio-educational principles, involve interaction with animals, plants, and the environment
Children and teenagers can enjoy the farm:
- spend their free time meaningfully
- become familiar with farm life
- to work independently and participate in the economy
- to gain an awareness of necessary activities
- Learning conscious environmental behavior
- Getting to know yourself and others through sports and games
- Develop creativity and imagination
During the school term, mornings are filled with visiting groups from schools, kindergartens, and other institutions. Afternoons are offered additional scheduled activities such as animal care, pony rides, therapeutic riding, an agricultural group, baking, a bicycle repair workshop, pottery, gardening, a beekeeping group, lunch with homework supervision, and arts and crafts, leaving children and teenagers free to explore as they wish.
Special offers are available during school holidays. The farm also houses its own playgroup and kindergarten.
