The State Sports Federation (LSB) Bremen, as the umbrella organization of around 380 Bremen and Bremerhaven sports clubs and almost 50 sports associations, is the contact point for sports in the state of Bremen.

With over 142,000 members, the LSB (State Sports Association) remains the largest association of individuals in the two-city state. Its 50 specialist associations offer the full spectrum of sports, from aerosports to waterskiing: recreational sports have always been a core tradition within the LSB Bremen. Competitive sports, with its organized competition teams, are equally at home there.

The clubs affiliated with the State Sports Federation offer programs for various performance levels and age groups, and also specifically target children and seniors, resettlers, foreigners, and people undergoing rehabilitation. The area of ​​sports and health is experiencing particularly strong growth.

Health motivation plays an increasingly important role in the decision to participate in sports. Prevention through sports is also supported by health insurance companies. The primary goal of all measures taken by the volunteer-run LSB (Landessportbund – State Sports Federation) is to support and promote people in their pursuit of physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being, i.e., to support opportunities for participation in sports in every way possible.

The LSB (State Sports Federation) is therefore constantly working to ensure the conditions for a wide range of sporting activities and for an attractive, self-governing club life. The specialist associations, the district sports federations, the individual clubs, and the LSB office all contribute equally to fulfilling this task.

The services are supported and implemented through the work of volunteers, full-time and freelance staff, collaboration with service and investment companies, collaboration with democratic social groups and individuals, and cooperation with scientific, educational and economic institutions.
