District: Woltmershausen

The Pusdorf Cultural Center is a socio-cultural institution run by a non-profit association and works to promote cultural education, equal opportunities and an improvement in the quality of life in the Woltmershausen district.

Supporting children and young people is a particular priority. The Pusdorf Cultural Center offers a forum for art and artists, for local culture and development. You can find information about the current program, including various events, collaborative projects, and courses, on the website, as well as access the local newspaper, "Pusdorfer Blatt." The center caters to children and young people, who can develop their artistic and creative potential in a community setting, and to adults who wish to pursue their interests, present their work, or share their skills.

The Pusdorf Cultural Center, as a socio-cultural hub, aims to offer many people the opportunity to participate in and shape culture – a culture without barriers. A key focus is the promotion of cultural education for children and young people. The cultural center is a place where people from the neighborhood can meet without prejudice, regardless of origin, age, or lifestyle, and where various groups from schools, children's and youth organizations, clubs, businesses, politics, and churches can be active.

A wide range of programs are conceived, organized, and implemented, taking place in the cultural center, outdoors, or in the premises of our cooperation partners. A key focus is on long-term collaborations with schools, artistic and art education projects, courses, and creative workshops. The cultural center also offers social and health-promoting courses, as well as language and music classes.

The regular program also includes events such as concerts, cabaret, readings, exhibitions, and children's theater, as well as the organization of neighborhood festivals. Furthermore, the cultural center is responsible for the editorial content of the neighborhood newspaper, "Pusdorfer Blatt." Local issues are addressed and explored in artistic and art education projects. There is close collaboration with institutions and businesses in the neighborhood, reaching and engaging diverse population groups. Cooperation with external partners and their professional expertise and/or financial support enriches the cultural life of the neighborhood.

These include the Chamber of Employees, the Bremen University of Applied Sciences, art in public space, SpielLandschaftStadt (EU project B-Sure), the VHS Süd, the Arbeiterwohlfahrt and other socio-cultural institutions.
