Mother/Father-Child Accommodation
The residential group is run in cooperation with Kriz eV. With this facility, we aim to ensure that mothers/fathers in difficult life circumstances and situations are empowered to live together with their child. They should be enabled to develop a life together with their child, taking responsibility for their own well-being and acting in the child's best interests.
The target group consists of single mothers and fathers aged 16 to 27 years and, in individual cases, older.
This facility is for young pregnant women and mothers with educational needs or impaired personality development and/or personality disorders who require care in a residential facility that guarantees "round-the-clock" care.
Young girls aged 16 to young women aged 25 (admission age) are admitted. Admission of younger girls is possible in exceptional cases. Admission takes place no earlier than the 13th week of pregnancy.
The facility is located in Gröpelingen. The house is situated in a very quiet location on a small side street. It is a larger, rented house with a garden. The apartments are located near the main house.
The program is professionally managed by a certified psychologist/child protection specialist with several years of experience. Care is provided by a team of qualified social workers (certified social pedagogues, social workers with a Bachelor of Arts degree), an art therapist, and a night shift team. Night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. are staffed by one night shift worker on site, with the team of qualified professionals providing on-call support.

At the Humannstraße facility, the right of these mothers to live together with their children is guaranteed, with the aim of enabling permanent cohabitation and independent living through targeted support and care. The children are to be fully integrated into this care. This system focuses on creating a promising mother-child bond. The well-being of the infants/children is therefore the central focus of the work. Consequently, the infants/children are to be considered as whole persons.
To ensure the child's welfare, admissions always initially take place in the main building. A move to the external accommodations can only occur after sufficient assessment of the mothers' abilities and their capacity to safeguard the child's well-being, and following appropriate support planning in collaboration with the Social Services Department (AfSD).
