Scientific learning – what is it?
Universities address questions and problems from a wide variety of fields in their research and teaching. They are sources of scientifically sound knowledge and methods. Pursuing further academic education at the University of Bremen means drawing from this source.
For us, learning is successful when participants can reflect on existing knowledge and experience within a scientific context and connect it with newly acquired knowledge. Successful learning enables them to expand their competencies and become more capable of making sound judgments and taking action in their work and life contexts. When learning is successful, it can open up opportunities for participants to develop new professional or personal perspectives.
We cannot "make" successful learning happen. However, it is our responsibility and our goal as education providers to create the conditions for successful learning processes.
Successful learning is a lifelong journey; because new knowledge gives rise to new questions, new perspectives, and new learning. We are delighted to be able to accompany our participants on this journey for a time.

Social responsibility
We see it as our social responsibility to make the university and its knowledge accessible to people with diverse educational backgrounds; therefore, opening the university to people without a university degree is of particular importance to us. To facilitate the transfer of knowledge from the university to society, we place great emphasis on the practical relevance and interdisciplinarity of our programs. The content of our programs is fundamentally free from the ideological and economic interests of third parties.
Quality and certification
We consider it our duty to offer our participants continuing education courses of high quality in terms of content and teaching methods. Selected quality assurance procedures therefore accompany all phases of the development of continuing education programs, the design of teaching and learning situations, the advising of prospective and current participants, and the execution of the events. We are certified by TÜV Rheinland according to ISO 9001:2015 and AZAV.
Our goal is to plan and deliver successful professional development programs. To achieve this goal, we offer our commitment and expertise.
