By women, for women, for Bremen
The members of the Arab Women's Association have their roots in various Arabic-speaking countries and live in Bremen.
The main goal of our association is to promote the integration of Arab women into German society and to foster respectful and tolerant coexistence among all cultures in Bremen. Furthermore, we act as a liaison and communication tool between our members and relevant authorities and institutions.
Another important goal is to dismantle mutual prejudices in order to foster harmonious coexistence in Bremen. We address this crucial point particularly in our events, which are attended by women of all nationalities and backgrounds. We see ourselves as representatives of different countries who want to facilitate cultural exchange.
Our social commitment generally focuses on intercultural and linguistic development as well as improving the living conditions of our members and their families.
We offer:
- Educational support and a family-oriented platform that provides advice and assistance with questions, wishes or problems and, if necessary, refers you to the appropriate counseling center
- A diverse range of language, education, and leisure activities, open to all religions, ethnic groups, and nationalities, and tailored to the needs of women
- Organizing intercultural encounters for all Bremen residents to reduce prejudice and improve mutual acceptance between immigrants and locals
Together with women from Bremen and all over the world, we would like to:
- To promote our coexistence in Bremen and to treat each other with respect and tolerance
- support each other and offer help
- Discovering our commonalities
This is what makes our club unique:
- We are the only association in Bremen and throughout Germany for Arab women and act as a central contact point for these women.
- In Bremen, there are various Arab groups representing different countries, ethnic groups, and religions. However, the Arab Women's Association is for all Arab women, regardless of their origin.
- Through our members, we are known in almost all Arab families in Bremen.
- Through our members we receive a lot of information about emergency shelters, transitional housing and services, but also about problems, e.g. cases of discrimination.
- We know how we can contribute to the rapid integration of migrants who have been living here for some time and of refugees, and how we can use their energy and initiative in a positive way.
- We quickly build trust.
