The Bremen Blind Garden is a true gem located in the heart of St. Magnus, on the edge of Knoops Park. The garden for the blind covers approximately 1600 square meters.

The garden is designed to be barrier-free with different experience areas; the different design of the paths is intended as an orientation aid for the blind users of the garden.

The garden is of course also open to the general public seeking recreation – but it is specifically designed to meet the unique needs of blind people. The plants are arranged in raised beds for smelling, feeling, and touching.

This is an exemplary garden that can be explored, touched, smelled, and experienced daily from March to October. Through the right selection of plants, the world of blind and visually impaired people, as well as sighted people, can become many times more colorful and welcoming.

Relief panels at the entrance and inside the garden inform visitors about the design of the sensory garden with its various sensory areas. The plant beds are enclosed by 60-80 cm high wooden palisades, allowing visitors to comfortably smell, feel, and touch the plants.

It also offers children a unique opportunity to explore plants with all their senses.

The wide variety of plant species in the Blind Garden also provides a vibrant habitat for many insects. Numerous bee species, in particular, make their home in our garden. Located on the edge of Knoops Park, the Blind Garden offers an excellent environment for promoting and preserving biodiversity through its extensive plant selection.

The facility is designed and constructed in such a way that blind visitors can move freely and orient themselves in this garden without outside assistance.
