Holiday camp for children and teenagers
The Bremen Children's and Youth Leisure Association (Bremer Kinder- und Jugendfreizeit e.V.) was founded in 1983. Since then, the association's purpose has been to provide meaningful, relaxing, and affordable leisure activities for children and young people. This is primarily achieved through a two-week tent camp during the summer holidays. In the early years of the association, activities such as baking cookies together, swimming, and museum visits were also offered.
The board and all active members of the association work on a voluntary basis. Only during the holiday camp are the counselors given a small token of appreciation in the form of pocket money. As a gesture of goodwill for their commitment, assistants pay only half the participation fee.
