With nearly 37,000 members, the Bremen Gymnastics Association (BTV) is the largest sports federation in the state of Bremen. Its 80 member clubs, spread across three gymnastics districts, offer a comprehensive and diverse program. In addition to extensive recreational, leisure, and health-oriented sports offerings for all ages, the BTV's repertoire includes a wide range of competitive sports and numerous cultural and artistic activities. A particular focus of gymnastics today is the diverse range of gymnastics and fitness programs offered by its member clubs.
Young Families in Motion:
This project focuses primarily on promoting physical activity in preschool children. Play and movement activities aim to improve a child's physical, social, and emotional skills, fostering their development into a confident individual. The project was based on the fact that children's gymnastics – especially parent-child gymnastics – is a widespread and well-regarded offering in clubs.
Every year, Junge Familien in Schwung produces its own brochure with offers from Bremen's associations for children, which is available in kindergartens, pediatricians' offices and public institutions.
Since parents are also meant to be actively involved in gymnastics classes, the Bremen Gymnastics Association's educational program and the Bremen Sports Youth offer special events for teachers, educators, and coaches, to which parents are also warmly invited. These training sessions cover joint play opportunities for children and parents and how to continue these activities at home and within the family.
Furthermore, taster days for parents and children are held at clubs in the individual districts. There, they can find out directly on site about the activities offered by the respective club or simply do gymnastics and play around with their children.
