On January 1, 2006, as part of a restructuring of Caritas Bremen, Caritas-Erziehungshilfe gGmbH (Caritas Educational Assistance Ltd.) was founded. It consolidates inpatient and outpatient services for children and young people. With the tragic death of Kevin in October 2006, the situation in Bremen changed, and the number of cases increased significantly once again.

In 2007, in cooperation with the Bremer Werkgemeinschaft eV, the project “Kokon” was created, a housing offer for parents with mental illness and their children.

In June 2007, the therapeutic day group, a semi-residential child and youth welfare service, was launched. In 2013, the Gröpelingen early intervention center opened in cooperation with the public health department. In 2014, the ION Berckstraße project began, providing emergency care for unaccompanied male minor refugees. Today, Caritas-Erziehungshilfe gGmbH employs 120 people.
