DIKS is an independent dementia advice center and offers information and free advice for those affected and their relatives.
The only condition for the consultation is that you or the person being consulted must live in the city of Bremen.
We aim to ensure that the quality of life for people with dementia and their families is maintained as much as possible. The goal is to support and relieve the burden on family members in providing care and to enable people with dementia to live independently for as long as possible.

A diagnosis of dementia/Alzheimer's disease:
Caring for and supporting people with dementia is a difficult and demanding task. It often places an extreme burden on caregivers, as they are on call around the clock. New questions can constantly arise, such as: how do I deal with a particular behavior, or how can I best support the person with dementia?
The family doctor is the first point of contact for diagnosis. In addition, individual dementia counseling should be provided, in which relief and support services can be discussed according to the personal situation.
We offer this personal consultation on all topics “related to dementia” at the Dementia Information and Coordination Center (DIKS).
