Autonomous women's shelter
The association "Frauen helfen Frauen in Bremen Nord eV" maintains a women's shelter with 8 rooms for the women and their children, as well as common rooms, children's playrooms, communal kitchen, etc.
We provide a first point of contact for threatened/abused women and their children. Every woman decides for herself when and if she wants to free herself from a difficult life situation in order to build an independent and self-determined life.
The women's shelter provides protection to affected women, regardless of religion, nationality and regional origin, in order to prevent further physical or psychological violence.
Our tasks include:
- If necessary, contact and cooperation with the police, White Ring, Pro Familia, etc.
- Help with financial security problems
- Assistance with visits to government offices and authorities
- Referral to legal advice
- Care for women of all nationalities
- Help with finding an apartment
- Individual and group discussions are available as needed
- Suggestions for meaningful leisure activities
