Violence against women and girls

Violence can affect any woman. It most often occurs in her own home, in public places, at work, during education or training, or online. Generally, everyone residing in Germany has a right to protection from violence!

No one may intentionally injure another person physically or psychologically, force them to have sex, harass, insult, threaten, humiliate, torture, rape, or beat them. Such actions are also prohibited in private relationships, families, marriages, and partnerships.

Sometimes an experience of violence happened some time ago, sometimes it just occurred. Perhaps you or people around you are unsure whether and what steps you want to take, or you need specific support services.

This website provides information on the different forms of violence as well as the corresponding contact and advice centers.
