Friends of Addiction Support

self-help groups

We support addicts and their families on the path out of addiction and into a fulfilling state of abstinence. We see ourselves as self-help groups open to all forms of addiction. You can do it, but you can't do it alone.

Support groups are discussion groups where people with addictions and their families come together. We meet because we've realized that talking to each other helps us – regularly, in the same place, at the same time, and usually weekly.

Support groups for people with addiction are a network by and for people with lived experience of addiction. These groups advocate for people with or at risk of addiction, as well as for those close to them.

Support groups foster personal relationships and friendships. They offer suggestions for a fulfilling life free from addiction. Support groups work in partnership with outpatient and inpatient addiction support services.
