Help for children in difficult life situations

We are a small, non-profit organization founded in 1994 and operating entirely on a volunteer basis. The work is primarily carried out by the members of the board. We have no office and employ no staff. This ensures that every euro donated goes directly to helping children in need.

The Friends of Bremen Children in Need association is registered with the Bremen District Court under number 5333 and recognized as a non-profit organization by the Bremen tax office. Donations are tax-deductible!

What are our goals?

We would like to remind you that:

• Unfortunately, not all children in Bremen and Bremerhaven can grow up healthy and happy;
• The necessary assistance cannot be provided by the state for all children with disabilities and chronic illnesses;
• we learn again to look after our children in our immediate neighborhood, to feel responsible for our children in Bremen and Bremerhaven;
• All children have a right to joy and happiness!

What do we do?

Children in challenging life situations need a wide range of support tailored to their individual needs, and above all, support that brings them joy. With your donations, we specifically support children's groups and organizations in Bremen and Bremerhaven.

Some examples:

• Procurement of child-friendly furnishings and play equipment for transitional housing for families in difficult life situations.
• Providing facilities for blind and disabled children with educational and therapeutic toys.
• Targeted support for children to enable them to have social contacts through:
  • joint sports leisure activities
  • Support for learning to swim/water familiarization courses
  • targeted support for reading and spelling difficulties

And with your help, much more will be possible in the future!
