The Bremen local group of the Friends of Nature, founded in 1912, is part of the international Friends of Nature movement, which was founded in Vienna in 1895 on the initiative of a teacher.
Free access to nature has always been important. The goals of nature lovers are more relevant worldwide than ever: nature and the environment, sustainable tourism, the preservation of biodiversity, and the opportunity for working people to spend their leisure time together with others in nature, hiking, and playing sports.
