The Prof. Hess Parent-Child Center is one of the largest and most modern children's hospitals in Germany. With the establishment of the Prof. Hess Parent-Child Center at the Bremen-Mitte Hospital, one of the largest and most modern children's hospitals in Germany has been created.
Pediatrics, surgery, and intensive care are located in one building. In addition, there is a day clinic, diagnostic areas, and a pediatric emergency department on the ground floor. The pediatric emergency department on the ground floor is directly adjacent to the expanded adult emergency department. Besides a spacious reception area, the day clinic and diagnostic department are also located on the ground floor. The hospital wards are on the floors above, and the top floor houses neonatology and obstetrics with six delivery rooms. In addition to the standard wards, there is an intensive care unit, and an intermediate care unit is directly connected.
Children's emergency room
On the ground floor of the parent-child center is a large, state-of-the-art pediatric emergency department. All children who come to us as emergencies—because they have been injured, had an accident, or need urgent medical attention for other reasons—receive prompt, expert, and comprehensive care there. For severely injured children, there is a special resuscitation room equipped with all the necessary technical equipment for such situations. In the pediatric emergency department, we treat children according to the urgency of their injury or illness.
If your child doesn't necessarily need hospital treatment, but your pediatrician's office is closed, you can contact the on-call pediatric service of the statutory health insurance association. This service is also located in the parent-child center and can be accessed via the children's emergency room entrance. More information
