Meeting and support in the neighborhood

QEK – Neighborhood Development in Small and Special Areas – is committed to fostering a vibrant and positive community in Bremen's Bahnhofsvorstadt district. The Quartiersinsel 45 (Q45) community center at Falkenstraße 45F is an open space for meeting, exchanging ideas, receiving advice, and participating in joint activities. The project is implemented by the Hans Wendt Foundation and is part of the state program "Lively Neighborhoods.".

The offer is aimed at everyone living in the area around the train station – including families, children and young people, as well as senior citizens. Initiatives and associations are also welcome. Age, origin, or language are irrelevant.

The neighborhood representatives are contact persons for questions, ideas, and concerns from the community. They connect people, support community engagement, and help implement joint ideas and projects. They also act as liaisons between residents and local organizations.

The Quartiersinsel 45 community center hosts a variety of activities and events. These include neighborhood gatherings, language courses, study groups, parent-child programs, street festivals, and community events. Residents can contribute their own ideas and actively participate in shaping the development of their neighborhood.

The aim of neighborhood work is to facilitate encounters, strengthen communities, promote participation, and offer support and guidance in everyday life. The Bahnhofsvorstadt neighborhood center is implemented by the Hans Wendt Foundation on behalf of the State of Bremen, and its work is part of the neighborhood development program for small and special areas (QEK) and is part of the "Lively Neighborhoods" program.
