The Bremen State Association of the Deaf (Landesverband der Gehörlosen Bremen e.V.) is the umbrella organization and representative body for all deaf associations and organizations in Bremen and Bremerhaven.
The Bremen State Association of the Deaf (Landesverband der Gehörlosen Bremen e.V., LV) acts as a contact and negotiating partner vis-à-vis the state government and other institutions.
It represents the interests of deaf people in the state of Bremen at the political level. The LV is an association entitled to file class action lawsuits and is a voting member of the State Participation Advisory Board.

At the federal level, the Bremen State Association of the Deaf represents Bremen's interests in the German Federation of the Deaf.
As a shareholder of Integrationsfachdienst Bremen GmbH (Bremen Integration Services Ltd.), it advocates for the well-being of hearing-impaired people in the workplace. Furthermore, the State Association is a member of the Bremen State Association for Self-Help for People with Disabilities (LAG Selbsthilfe behinderter Menschen Bremen e.V.) and the German Parity Welfare Association (Deutscher Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband).

The LV offers courses in German Sign Language through its sign language school. The range of courses includes evening classes, block courses, company courses, home sign language courses for hearing-impaired children (with costs covered by social services), and
much more. The agency for sign language interpreters arranges assignments in all areas of life and far beyond state borders (e.g., as far as the coast or the Dutch border, as well as south to Diepholz/Nienburg and west to Walsrode/Rotenburg/Bremervörde).

The general advice center and the EUTB® advice center offer counseling and support for people seeking advice in various life situations. Those interested can attend the open consultation hours without prior appointment. A monthly outreach consultation is offered on Friday afternoons in Bremerhaven.
