Services for parents and their children in the Osterholz district
The Family Centers are neighborhood-based facilities run by the Bremen Office for Social Services. Their services are aimed at parents and their children in the local area and are open to all nationalities and diverse forms of cohabitation. The focus is on supporting parents in fulfilling their parental responsibilities.
The central themes of our work are:
- Family life and parental role
- Education and development of children
- Marriage and partnership
- Support for single parents
- Integration of immigrant families in the district
These priorities are taken into account in all the services offered by the family centers. These include, among other things, parent-child groups, playgroups, discussion groups, counseling and courses, early intervention services, creative activities, fathers' groups, parenting courses, grandparents' meetings, language and integration courses, self-help groups, weekend and summer camps, excursions, neighborhood festivals, and much more.
We provide direct, easily accessible, and unbureaucratic support. We cooperate with other services and institutions and offer qualified guidance and support.
Ideas for self-help are encouraged and supported.
