The Senator for Health, Women and Consumer Protection in Germany's smallest federal state is composed of experts from various disciplines (specialist advisors) and administration (case workers) as well as the political leadership consisting of the Senator and State Councillor along with the Senator's office.

Women's Staff Unit
The Women's Affairs Unit, headed by Senator Claudia Bernhard, is responsible for women's policy matters at both the state and city levels in the state of Bremen. This unit encompasses legislative tasks and fundamental issues of women's policy, as well as funding matters for women's shelters and women's institutions in the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen. A key task of the State Coordination Office for the Istanbul Convention, located within this unit, is the protection of women from violence through the implementation of the Istanbul Convention.
Consumer protection
By combining economic and health-related consumer protection into a dedicated department, we in the state of Bremen have created the conditions to better represent the interests of consumers.
