The Bremen Volunteer Agency is one of three departments of the Bremen Social Peace Service (Sozialer Friedensdienst Bremen e.V.). Since the early 1990s, it has supported, trained, and promoted volunteer work in Bremen. Its work focuses on the following areas:
Consultation:
We offer advice on volunteer opportunities in Bremen. We connect interested individuals with suitable activities in non-profit organizations and initiatives in Bremen. Consultations are available in person at our location in the Central Library or by telephone. All information about volunteer opportunities in Bremen can also be found on our website.
In this context, the volunteer agency develops its own exemplary and innovative volunteer projects in order to discover new social fields for volunteer work.
Training and Development:
We aim to provide qualified support to non-profit organizations. We are available to institutions, associations, and initiatives that wish to establish or professionalize their volunteer work. To this end, we develop suitable training and organizational consulting programs with them. More information.
Public Relations:
Through events, publications and lectures, we contribute to a local culture of engagement and aim to create a welcoming climate and suitable conditions for civic engagement in Bremen.
