Advice for babies and their parents

A crying baby that cannot be soothed leads to despair and overwhelm for the parents. If all physical needs have been met and a baby is still crying, the cause may lie in prenatal or birth trauma.

In this case, the baby wants to communicate what it has experienced in its own way and needs an empathetic and present person to do so. Baby therapy offers a safe space for processing the trauma and for re-establishing contact between the baby and its parents.

Pre- and perinatal trauma therapy:
Our health and well-being are profoundly shaped by the conditions we experienced during pregnancy and birth.

Prenatal experiences and birth itself create a fundamental imprint that influences many aspects of our lives: decision-making, relationships, motivation, addictions, self-confidence, eating habits, intimacy, and parenthood.

There are many reasons for pre- and perinatal stress, trauma, and shock.

The most common include:

  • to be an unwanted child
  • Parental stress during pregnancy
  • Desires or attempts at abortion
  • a lost twin
  • Premature birth or artificial induction of labor
  • anesthesia
  • surgical interventions (such as cesarean section, forceps, vacuum extraction)
  • Umbilical cord complications or breech presentation
  • Abandonment and lack of contact after birth

The protective mechanisms we develop as unborn babies are stored deep in the body consciousness as survival mechanisms and can significantly impair the quality of life.

As adults, we can permanently change these ingrained, self-hindering behavioral patterns through pre- and perinatal trauma therapy, addressing experiences from our prenatal period and birth. Through body memory, we are able to remember and free our bodies from trauma, shock, and unconscious behaviors.
