Care knowledge to stream – anytime, anywhere: Care ABC offers online care courses for family caregivers, those in need of care and neighborhood helpers – free for those with statutory health insurance, certified according to § 45 SGB XI.

Care ABC is a digital education and support platform for all aspects of home care. The certified online care courses provide easily understandable expert knowledge and practical assistance for everyday caregiving. The content is developed in collaboration with experts from various fields and independently reviewed. The courses can be accessed flexibly on a computer, tablet, or smartphone.

This offer is aimed particularly at family caregivers, people in need of care, and neighborhood helpers. People who are not currently providing care but would like to learn about home care early on or prepare for a potential caregiving situation are also welcome to participate.

The Care ABC course offers video and audio lessons covering various aspects of caregiving. Topics include the first steps when someone needs care, care levels and benefit entitlements, practical care, dementia, safety and first aid, and supporting people with specific illnesses. Special content is also available for parents caring for a child in need of care.

In addition to expert knowledge, users receive practical tips that can help with organizing and managing daily caregiving. Complementary digital services support, for example, assessing the level of care required, submitting applications, or preparing for further steps.

For those with statutory health insurance, participation in caregiving courses certified according to § 45 SGB XI is free of charge. A certificate of participation can be downloaded upon completion of a course. Those with private health insurance can usually submit the costs to their insurance company for reimbursement.
