German language test for immigrants (DTZ)

You complete the integration course with the German Test for Immigrants (DTZ). The DTZ certificate at level B1 proves the required German language skills for naturalization. With this certificate, you document your language proficiency in the areas of listening, reading, speaking, and writing.

Requirements for participation

You can take the German Test for Immigrants (DTZ) with us…

• if you have participated in an integration course and have a valid eligibility certificate for an integration course.
• or if you have already participated in at least one section of the integration course (without eligibility to participate, at your own expense).

If you are not taking or have not taken an integration course, you cannot take the DTZ test.

Contents

If you attend an integration course with us, your instructors will prepare you for the exam. They will conduct mock tests and practice typical tasks with you.

Depending on your score, you will complete this test at level A2 or B1. A B1 level test demonstrates the required German language skills for naturalization.
