For people with complex problems
The Inner Mission's project aims to reach people who have previously fallen through the cracks of the support system. When mental illness is compounded by extensive social problems and homelessness, existing treatment and support services are often difficult for these individuals to access due to the high demands placed upon them. This is where the "Compass" collaborative project comes in. The two-year project is funded by the Senator for Health, Women and Consumer Protection
What's new about Kompass is its interdisciplinary collaboration, which for the first time unites expertise from various departments within the Inner Mission in one team. This includes, in addition to services for the homeless, the area of support for people with mental or cognitive impairments, as well as experience from psychiatry. The combination of these three perspectives creates a holistic approach that can address people with complex problems on multiple levels.
The Compass team consists of three employees. A key part of their work involves establishing contacts with various institutions and assisting those affected in accessing appropriate support services.
