School avoidance
The "Strickleiter Süd" (Rope Ladder South) is a project at two locations for students exhibiting school avoidance behavior. The project is firmly established at the Gymnasium Links der Weser (a secondary school) and the Wilhelm-Kaisen-Oberschule (another secondary school). The program is supplementary to regular schooling. The students continue to attend their regular schools and receive on-site support in their daily school life.
The project offers:
- Accompaniment and support during school attendance
- Individual consultations
- intensive contact with teachers, parents and other support systems
- Referral to other support systems
- joint excursions
- individual learning support
- Assistance in dealing with various problem situations
- intensive socio-educational support
- a multi-professional educational team
The project is aimed at all students of the partner schools. Up to 15 participants, who actively or passively avoid school, can be accepted at both locations.
The aim is to support students within the school system and enable them to attend school regularly, thereby improving their chances of graduating. To achieve this, we work closely with the school's Center for Supportive Education, the Regional Support and Counseling Center (ReBUZ), and the Office for Social Services (AfSD).
