Support during the transition from school to work
The transition from school to work represents a significant phase in a young person's life. Important decisions are made during this time in the search for one's own identity and social status.
The Center for School and Career (zsb), as a cooperative institution at the interface of youth welfare, school and the world of work, has made it its mission to offer targeted support to young people and young adults who have not initially succeeded in transitioning from school to vocational training, as early as possible, to ensure successful integration into the workforce.
Through the close integration of youth services and schools, the activities of the zsb contribute to a sustainable improvement in the situation of young people in Bremen during the transition from school to work. The zsb also cooperates with other departments in the implementation of individual projects.
The Center for School and Career (zsb), under the auspices of the German Red Cross, Bremen District Association, has been operating as a cooperative institution at the interface between youth services and schools since 1994. This focus has been expanded over the course of our successful work to include further cooperation partners and areas of specialization.
The zsb headquarters at Steffensweg 171 is the heart of the institution, where the management, pedagogical leadership, central administration, and coordination teams work closely together. Here lies the responsibility for the fundamental personnel, professional, and organizational management of the zsb. All work is based on a cooperative and transparent information structure.
In this way, the central office supports all projects within the zsb, which work both in the field of work-related youth social work and – depending on the project goal – with people outside of youth welfare.

- Young people still of compulsory school age who have not yet obtained a school leaving certificate or who require targeted support during the transition to working life
