The "Career Prospects for Refugees in Bremen and Bremerhaven" (bin+) project supports refugees in developing career prospects and finding access to training and employment. This collaborative project brings together four organizations in Bremen and Bremerhaven. Through coordinated services, bin+ promotes the sustainable integration of refugees into the regional labor and training market.
The service is aimed at asylum seekers, people with tolerated stay status, recognized refugees, people with a residence permit for humanitarian reasons, and young refugees. Businesses, chambers of commerce, authorities, advice centers, and other professionals working with refugees can also contact bin+.
Refugees receive advice on residency, employment, and social welfare law. Individual coaching, career guidance, and application training help them identify career opportunities and plan their next steps. bin+ also supports them in finding apprenticeships or jobs and facilitates placements in apprenticeships, internships, and employment.
Another focus is on collaboration with businesses and skilled workers. bin+ informs businesses about labor and residency law issues and offers training, information, and professional development events on the integration of refugees into the workforce and vocational training. Through public relations work and regional and national networking, the project also contributes to structurally improving access to education and employment. Coordination and network management are handled by the Center for School and Career (zsb).
