Solidarische Hilfe eV is a socio-political advocacy group by and for people with low incomes.

Since 1987, the association has offered professional and independent advice in various districts of Bremen for the unemployed, those threatened with unemployment, welfare recipients and other people with low incomes:

  • We provide information about benefits, obligations and entitlements in cases of unemployment and receipt of social assistance
  • We offer advice on problems with the employment agency, the job center, and the social services office
  • We help to clarify misunderstandings with these authorities, resolve conflicts, and support you in enforcing your rights

Professional, independent and confidential advice

  • We inform employees who are at risk of unemployment
  • We provide information and support regarding entitlements and applications for other social benefits (housing allowance, parental allowance, child support advance, etc.)
  • We provide information about financial assistance in personal times of upheaval
  • We offer one-stop information on a wide range of related topics
  • We provide information about current and upcoming changes in legislation
  • We are networked with other advice centers that work on related topics
  • We prepare statements on current socio-political issues and legal changes
  • We create advisory and informational materials on current problems
  • Upon request, our consultants are available as speakers on specialist policy issues
  • and legal questions in our field of work
  • We are involved in Bremen's labor market and social policy
  • We address issues of unemployment and poverty through public relations work
  • We collaborate across regions with BAG PLESA (formerly BAG-SHI, the Federal Association of Unemployed and Social Welfare Initiatives).

The "Solidarity Aid" supports everyone

  • Regardless of whether you are a man, woman, child, teenager, pupil, student, employed or unemployed, healthy or sick, single parent, married or unmarried…
  • regardless of where you were born, where you come from, what color your skin is, or what religious community you belong to
  • in case of problems arising from job loss, lack of training, illness, age, separation or other life circumstances, which force you to claim the legally granted support from the relevant authorities.

Our advisors will endeavor to answer your questions and inform you about enforcing your options and rights with the relevant authorities.

If necessary, we can also assist with the formulation of applications, appeals, etc.
