Psychosocial counselling on gender identity issues
The Trans* Counseling Center Bremen offers accepting, independent, and professional counseling on equal terms for all questions relating to trans* gender, gender identity, and non-binary identities. We counsel trans* (transgender, transsexual, trans-identified) individuals, people who are wondering if they might be trans*, family members and friends, as well as professionals who encounter trans* issues. We use a systemic and person-centered counseling approach.
Our consultation
Our supportive and respectful counseling provides space for self-reflection, fosters self-understanding, and expands perspectives and options for action. We accompany you in exploring and becoming aware of gender-related discomfort without steering you in one direction or another. The counseling offers the opportunity to discuss these issues in a safe, unbiased, and open-ended environment and, if needed, to develop decision-making tools. The goal of the counseling is to support you in finding a congruent, individual path in life. Non-binary, agender, and genderfluid people are warmly welcome to participate.
Our counseling is tailored to the concerns and needs of those seeking advice. We offer guidance on psychosocial and legal issues. Our team consists of two psychosocial counselors, both of whom have a trans* background, and a specialized lawyer. We also provide support for children and young people. We collaborate with refugee and migration support initiatives and are happy to advise individuals with refugee or migration experience, including translation services if needed. Accessible counseling sessions are available upon request.
We offer counseling to individuals, couples, polyamorous relationships, and families as needed. Our services are, of course, confidential and protect the anonymity of our clients. The counseling is free of charge. The Bremen-based association Trans*Recht e.V.operates the Trans*Beratung Bremen (Trans*Counseling Bremen).

Appointment scheduling
Please note: We currently have a waiting time of up to 3 months for initial appointments. If you require an appointment sooner due to deadlines, please indicate this in your emails or when scheduling your appointment by phone. We will then find a solution.
Telephone: Appointments for the Bremen Mitte location are scheduled via a central telephone consultation. This is available every Monday and Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 015164862665. This consultation is solely for scheduling appointments; consultation requests cannot be addressed during this time.
