Then you can contact one of the municipal counseling centers for children, young people and families run by the Office for Social Services (AfSD) in Bremen. There you will find support with personal and family issues and can receive parenting advice.
The service is aimed at children, teenagers, young adults, (expectant) parents, families, and other caregivers. Teenagers can also receive counseling without their parents.
Together with a counselor, you can calmly examine your situation and look for solutions that suit you and your family. This might involve, for example, child development and upbringing, family conflicts, separation and divorce, custody arrangements, or differing parenting styles. Counseling centers are also available for support with traumatic experiences, heartbreak, difficulties with a partner, or other personal problems.
The consultations take place in a safe and confidential setting . The professionals from social work, education, psychology, and psychotherapy are bound by legal confidentiality. The consultation is free of charge and, if desired, anonymous. Interpreters can be provided if needed; they are also bound by confidentiality.
In addition to personal consultations, telephone, video and online consultations are also possible, depending on the service.
The advice centers are part of the Office for Social Services (AfSD). Bremen is divided into five regions for advice purposes. Which advice center is responsible for you depends on where you live.
