January 6, 2025 – Several changes will affect families in the new year 2025: Among other things, child benefits, child supplements, minimum child support payments, and child tax allowances will increase. Name laws will be modernized, allowing married couples to choose a joint double surname combining both partners' family names starting in May 2025. Children can also receive such double surnames.
