Are you an employee in the state of Bremen? Then you are also a member of the Bremen Chamber of Employees and can therefore take advantage of numerous services.
According to the Bremen Chamber of Employees Act, members of the Bremen Chamber of Employees are all employees in the state of Bremen (with the exception of civil servants). Currently, this includes approximately 311,000 employees subject to social security contributions and about 71,000 people in marginal employment (minijobs). Unemployed individuals who were last employed in the state of Bremen are also members of the Bremen Chamber of Employees.
The Chamber, as a public corporation, represents the interests of its members. The Bremen Chamber of Employees originated from the chambers for workers and salaried employees, which were founded in 1921 and were initially independent. These merged in 2001 to form the new Bremen Chamber of Employees.
