"Culture makes you strong"

"Culture Makes You Strong" promotes cultural education projects that contribute to greater educational equity at the local level. Ensuring greater equality of opportunity remains one of the central societal tasks of the coming years. Cultural education is key to achieving this. With "Culture Makes You Strong – Alliances for Education," the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) supports cultural education programs that enable children and young people facing barriers to education to develop new perspectives and strengthen their personalities. Since 2013, the BMBF has been funding cultural education projects planned and implemented by local alliances through the "Culture Makes You Strong – Alliances for Education" program. The program was implemented in its first funding round from 2013 to 2017. The third funding phase will now run from 2023 to 2027.

"Culture Makes You Strong – Alliances for Education" supports cultural education projects planned and implemented by local alliances. Since January 2023, the Bremen "Culture Makes You Strong" advisory center has been operated by Stadtkultur Bremen e.V. We offer advice by phone, email, and in person on questions related to the federal program "Culture Makes You Strong – Alliances for Education." As the contact point for Bremen and Bremerhaven, we help with initial questions about funding for cultural education projects. We provide initial information for associations and organizations, schools, daycare centers, and cultural professionals about the "Culture Makes You Strong – Alliances for Education" program.

We are happy to answer questions about funding and the application process, help you find suitable funding opportunities and appropriate partners, and explain the structure of the program and its dedicated portal, Kumasta. In addition to individual consultations – by phone, email, or in person – we organize informational events, networking meetings, and multiplier sessions. We aim to provide information and facilitate exchange and networking among associations, initiatives, youth centers, daycare centers, and other organizations. Everyone is warmly invited to our events.
