The Child and Youth Protection Helpline was established by the City of Bremen in 2007. It is part of a municipal child and youth emergency service that is available 24/7 in Bremen. The Bremen Child Protection Association (Kinderschutzbund Bremen) is one of the independent organizations that, in cooperation with the Office for Social Services, operates the helpline from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., Monday to Friday. The staff's role is to assess risks, document and forward information, and, in cases of acute child endangerment, inform the Youth Welfare Office.
