Moving Bremen forward together

Under this motto, the Citizens' Foundation promotes projects and initiatives that serve the coexistence of cultures and generations, strengthen civic responsibility and participation, and support civil courage and violence prevention.

The Citizens' Foundation sees itself as an advocate for strengthening citizen participation in public spaces and a promoter of voluntary civic engagement in many projects.

In April 2012, the governing bodies of the Bremen Citizens' Foundation translated the motto of the Bremen Citizens' Foundation, "Moving forward together," into the following guiding principle:

The Citizens' Foundation supports a vibrant future for our city

• Civil courage and violence prevention
• Civic responsibility and citizen participation
• the coexistence of cultures and generations

The civic foundation initiates and supports ideas and projects that serve these goals. It awards the Hilde Adolf Prize annually.
