We support older people and their families, families, children and young people, refugees, people with a migration background, people in debt and those struggling with addiction, as well as people with general social problems. We are present at many locations in Bremen.

In many cases, we also visit you at home, e.g., for outpatient care or outpatient child and youth welfare services.

The office is located at the Caritas Center Bremen in Schwachhausen. As the state Caritas association, we are also the leading organization for independent welfare services in the state of Bremen, with the following responsibilities:

• Participation in legislative processes and influence on the formation of opinions in parliaments and political bodies as a member of the State Working Group of Independent Welfare Organizations in Bremen.
• Organization of protests against injustice and discrimination and co-building of local aid structures, e.g. in the Bremen Poverty Conference or campaigns.
• Negotiations with health insurance companies and social security institutions.
• Promotion of voluntary engagement.
• Public relations work on all social issues.
