Aid to stabilize families and protect children and young people

The crisis service offers fast and focused help to stabilize families and protect children and young people.

The Crisis Service for Bremen Families (KBF) is a collaboration between AfJ Children and Youth Welfare Bremen, Kriz eV and the traveling werkschule schollen eV. The aim and focus of the intensive six-week short-term intervention is to safeguard the child's welfare and develop a viable perspective.

We provide individual, concrete support for crisis management and simultaneously employ diagnostic methods to evaluate the problems. We develop solutions together with those affected, ensuring that all approaches are perceived as meaningful and helpful by the individuals seeking help.

Our work is meticulously documented and reflected upon in team meetings, expert consultations, and supervision sessions. Finally, we prepare a comprehensive report, usually including recommendations for further support.

What do we offer?

  • Care begins within 24 hours
  • Each family is accompanied by two experienced educational professionals from a multi-professional team
  • Close contact, also on weekends if necessary
  • 24/7 availability
  • Child welfare protection, clarification of the situation, stabilization through intensive contact and establishment of initial concrete support according to individual needs
  • Involvement of the entire family system, the social environment, and close cooperation with educational and health institutions
  • Interim report and interim meeting after three weeks with a joint decision on the direction of further action
  • Detailed, qualified final report with recommendations for further assistance.
