Support for refugees and migrants

The Bremen Refugee Council provides solidarity, advice, and political support to refugees and migrants. We advocate for an open civil society in which those affected by discrimination are empowered in their struggle for participation, co-creation, and participation.

To guarantee the independence of our emancipatory work in Bremen, we finance our activities exclusively through donations and grants. Our main areas of focus are:

  •  To empower and support people who are disenfranchised, disadvantaged and excluded through participatory means
  • to directly assist those affected in asylum and residency law matters and to help overcome institutional hurdles
  • to expertly uncover and publicize the structural and administrative disadvantages faced by those affected, and to develop counter-strategies
  • to expand our campaigns to raise awareness about racism in Bremen.
