The GISBU women's shelter offers a safe haven for women and mothers with children (sons only up to the age of 18) who are affected by domestic violence.
We also offer shelter for women who have been victims of human trafficking and/or forced prostitution.
If you do not have sufficient income, the responsible benefits agency can cover the costs of accommodation (we will gladly assist you with the application process).
In an emergency situation, the police can bring you to us. However, it is less stressful for everyone involved if you plan your admission by contacting us beforehand. If you are single and under 25, there are sometimes special requirements for longer-term admission. Sometimes it may also be better to move to another city. We will then help you find a different place. A staff member is available 24 hours a day for emergency admissions.
Accommodation is provided in various sheltered apartments. You will retain your independence, be responsible for your own living arrangements, and regain control of your life.
We offer you peace and security to reflect on your situation and plan your future. We provide advice and support in finding housing, especially if your current circumstances are due to debt or illness.
If further assistance is needed and desired after your stay with us, follow-up support can be arranged. This is free of charge in any case.
