Leisure time and a better quality of life for the whole family!

Families with a child requiring care, a child with disabilities, or a child needing special support are often left to fend for themselves, especially during holidays and leisure activities. This places a constant strain on both parents and siblings of a child with special needs.

Shared family experiences or leisure activities that offer recreational value for the special needs child and their siblings are hardly possible. This is because the support that is available during the day is no longer available during holidays and weekends.

There is also a lack of inclusive leisure activities for children with special needs that they can participate in without their parents' support and experience in integrated groups. For these reasons, the association GutsKinder eV was founded.

We want our children to have a fulfilling time that follows their own pace and allows space for individuality. Joy and relaxation for children with and without disabilities are the goal of our activities.

Our holiday and weekly leisure programs offer children the opportunity for shared, joyful experiences. The joint activities of children with and without disabilities also lead to the realization that helping and receiving help can be enriching and natural occurrences.

Who are we?
The 100% non-profit organization GutsKinder eV was founded by our members seeking support and facilities for holidays and leisure activities for families with children with special needs. The children and their siblings should experience fun, games, excitement, and sports, while the parents benefit from well-organized, outpatient services they can confidently use.

Goals:
With empathy, idealism, and a realistic view of the needs of families with special needs children, we define the goals of the association.

• Relief:
  We want to provide sustainable relief to families with children, especially those with children with special needs. To this end, an inclusive meeting place will be established.
• Advice:
  During the regularly held GutsKinderEltern meetings, we advise and support parents with the help of external speakers from various disciplines in all matters and coordinate and mediate the assistance of existing associations.
• organize
  holiday childcare, regular and reliable afternoon programs and weekend leisure activities.
• Qualification:
  In addition to the continuous training and further education of our volunteer helpers by our doctor Anna Kreyenhop, psychologists and specialists from other associations are also involved to provide support.
• Relaxation:
  The main goal of GutsKinder e.V. is to create a holiday and leisure facility for the whole family that caters to everyone's needs. The focus is on the entire family. Children should be able to develop freely without restrictions through the various activities offered. For parents, the focus is primarily on relief and preventing exhaustion and burnout. We want to create a place where the family can relax together and where everyone gets their money's worth.

Cooperations
The association GutsKinder eV is building a broad network to use Bremen's infrastructure of sports and social clubs as well as cultural offerings for a diverse and well-organized program.

• Doctors and clinics:
  With the aim of keeping the burden on families seeking help as low as possible, close cooperation is established with local doctors and clinics.
• Counseling centers and early intervention centers
  offer support from specialists and psychologists
• Nursing services
  cooperation with the ADVERTUS nursing service and the Balu Children's Intensive Care Service GmbH & Co KG
• Bremen Hockey Club (
  Bremer Hockey Club e.V.) has been a cooperation partner from the very beginning. It significantly supports the idea behind our club. Successful holiday camps have already been run with the club's personnel support. Once the inclusion and sports performance center on Heinrich-Baden-Weg is completed, our GutsKinder office and meeting place will be integrated into it.
