Lebenshilfe Bremen was founded in 1960 by parents for their children with disabilities. Since then, family members, professionals, and many volunteers have been committed to a good, inclusive life for people with and without disabilities. People with disabilities themselves also advocate for their interests within Lebenshilfe.
At the heart of our work are the everyday needs of each individual, which are as diverse as the people themselves. With our wide range of services for children, young people and families, our various housing options for adults, our leisure and travel program, our Plain Language office and our numerous counseling services, we strive to meet these needs on an individual basis.
We are committed to ensuring that every person with an intellectual disability can live as independently as possible and receives the necessary support. Our goal is to enable equal participation in all areas of life.
