Offers
Prenatal Care:
Pregnancy brings significant changes, many new challenges, and a very special time for you as a couple. We want to support you with sensitivity and professionalism throughout the different phases of your pregnancy. As midwives, we are your point of contact and are happy to assist you.
During prenatal appointments, we conduct all examinations according to current maternity guidelines to monitor a normal pregnancy and document these in your maternity record. We allocate approximately 45 minutes for each prenatal checkup.
Midwifery care aims to strengthen a woman's competence and promote self-reliance. Pregnancy is a sensitive process of change that requires, above all, care and empathy, which is why we consider it beneficial to alternate prenatal appointments with a gynecologist.
Help with discomfort:
As part of your prenatal check-up or as needed, we offer advice and support for potential pregnancy discomforts (such as water retention, heartburn, back pain, etc.) or premature labor.
Your health insurance covers this service.
Postpartum care:
The postpartum period encompasses the first six to eight weeks after birth.
During this exciting time, we come to your home to help you care for your new family member, support you with breastfeeding, weigh the baby, promote postpartum recovery and the healing of any birth injuries, or simply answer any questions you may have.
Your health insurance covers the costs of the midwife during this phase of life as well.
Breastfeeding support:
Should you have any questions about breastfeeding after the postpartum period, we would be happy to come to your home for a breastfeeding consultation by appointment. Health insurance covers the costs for a further 6-8 visits.
Weaning consultation:
From the beginning of the fifth to seventh month, it is recommended to introduce solid foods in addition to breastfeeding or formula. We will help you decide whether to offer your baby food in the form of purees or finger foods and explain possible methods. An appointment can be arranged at your home or in our practice.
The costs for this consultation are also covered by health insurance.
Counseling after birth trauma:
Not every birth is without complications. Many women and families are left alone with their birth experiences afterward and find it difficult to understand the birth process. This becomes relevant in various situations, such as subsequent pregnancies, attachment disorders with the child, and depression. Here, we want to offer a space to talk about these experiences in order to better understand the birth process.
Care after miscarriage:
Between 10 and 30% of all pregnant women experience a miscarriage. What to do? Many women are unaware that midwifery care is available during this time. If no fetal heartbeat can be detected, most women are sent directly to the hospital for a dilation and curettage (D&C). However, it is often possible to wait several days without complications, allowing time to process the situation and come to terms with the loss of the pregnancy. Furthermore, a D&C is not always necessary if the woman's body can be stimulated to initiate labor through treatment.
